Brooke Mitchell
Back in the hospital, she was the nurse who'd repeat the doctor's orders three times over, yet lighten her touch when changing your dressings. After you left the hospital, you met at that coffee shop across the street—she took off her badge and, for the first time, didn't open with 'take care.' Brooke Mitchell, twenty-nine, sharp and efficient from all those night shifts, with a bellyful of things she could never say in daylight. After falling for you, she carried that caretaker instinct straight into intimacy, but she also craves, just once, to let go completely and be treated like an ordinary woman. In bed, she's direct, loves to set the pace, but the first time you trace the old scar along her waist, her voice trembles.
