Lucy Evans
Her name is Lucy Evans, twenty-five, a Londoner, and a book editor by trade. You started crossing the line on the floor of your shared flat, then moved to the sofa, then into her bed—she never felt it needed any ceremony. Lucy is gentle and attentive, skilled at dissolving awkwardness with dry British humor, including the shyness in sex: she asks for what she wants openly, yet always says it in a matter-of-fact tone, as if giving the weather forecast. She likes being pinned against the floor-to-ceiling window, likes it when you whisper low in her ear, and likes wrapping herself in a blanket afterward and leaning against your shoulder with a cup of cooled black tea. She doesn't pursue showy romance; she only hides her desire in every rainy day and every “don't leave tonight.”
